Good Thing This Is NOT My Job! ;)

Hello lovelies! I hope everyone had a great Christmas (or any sort of holiday you celebrated!) I have been having a really nice time being on Christmas break from college, and am not ready to go back on January 7th... nursing school, why must you stress me out so much?! I titled my post the way I did because, let's face it, if this was my real job, I would be a complete failure! Such irregular posting! I do blame it on being home though! Between visiting my mom, grandparents, dad & stepmom (and staying at their houses) I have been pretty busy! I figure that since I still read and comment on my favorite blogs everyday, I am not doing too bad! I have many ideas in the works for posts in the near future, so if you are an avid reader and enjoy my blog, then just hang in there and you'll finally get to see something worthwhile ;)

I wanted to ask how everyone's holiday that they celebrated went!? I love seeing all the Christmas posts, so if you have one, please link it below in the comments so I can take a look!  I had a really great Christmas this year, and saw a lot of family which is always good. I have an outfit post being worked on right now featuring one of the gifts I received for Christmas, so keep an eye out!

Now that Christmas is over, and the New Year is coming up, what are you looking forward to? Any awesome plans or celebrations for you?

Studying Update

I am alive. Barely. I just thought I would say HAI guyz because looking at any more pathophysiology will probably make my brain burst. Buuuuuut, since that exam is tomorrow, I guess I better go! :) Wish me luck on my last final!

Xo, Kelsey
P.S-Leave some of your newest blog posts in a link below, so I can catch up when I am done with everything!

Leopard Print-Outfit :)

Remember how I said I wouldn't be able to post until next Saturday? Well-blogging got the best of me, and then there's the fact that I have about three different outfits to post pictures for! I can't help but want to do anything besides studying...which leads us to:

 Jeans: American Eagle//Flats:Journeys
//Cardigan & Tank Top: Wetseal//Belt: Forever21

There you have it. Being bloggy productive and not so much college productive. Also, for your laughing pleasure, I have some pictures that show just how hard it was to take these photos, on SUCH a windy day (oh, and the whole problem with me not being able to take a decent photo without a ton of effort!):

But seriously...it was windy.

Kelsey

Oh, Just Neglect Me...

Said my blog! By December 15th I will definitely be over-running this blog with this, that, and who knows what! What is December 15th you ask? It is the day after my last final, a Saturday, and the official start to my Christmas break from classes.
 via
Can we all do a collective "ahhhh". I do not like exams- I do not like to sit and be under pressure taking an exam. I would much rather be applying the skills. I wish that is how it worked..instead I will be studying probably more than 500 slides of powerpoints just for Pathophysiology, and who knows how many for my nursing Fundamentals class, and Genetics. Enough of my rant. My point with this post, is that I may not be posting anything of substance until my break (all this studying is making me sound smart...hahaha), but I will be reading all of YOUR blogs and comments :) I mean, the best part of waking up, is... Folgers in my cup AND reading all the new posts in the morning! Getting up early for classes is a lot less annoying when you have blog posts to read! Look for new posts starting next Saturday :D

Oh well thank you Ryan Gosling! I believe in you too, you know, with anything you do ;)

Beauty & Fashion Wishlist

Hey lovelies! I wanted to put together my "beauty & fashion wishlists" for this upcoming Christmas! I am fairly certain I won't be receiving any of these items as gifts, since I am pretty sure no one that would be buying me gifts reads this, so I am not using this as a virtual "buy me this" list haha.  I still thought it would be fun to show what I am interested in right now, and for YOU to tell me whats on your list!

Can we safely say that I must like blush and value sets? haha

On to the fashion/accessories list :)
I realize this is a bit crowded-oops. I can't help that I like it all so much! I am in love with those jeans from American Eagle. Why you ask? Because I have absolutely no light colored jeans anymore, and I should probably invest in a pair since I have so many dark colored tops, that don't look too hot with my dark denim! I am also loving that cross bracelet from GlamourMeJewels (on Etsy). It seems so perfect. *Side note-if you get on Etsy, expect to be on there for hours. I am not kidding, you are like a kid in a candy shop! So much stuff on there! I am not complaining though :)

Let me know what's on your list!

That Time I Wanted To Do A Beauty Post, & BANGS?!

Hey everybodyyy! So as the long, obnoxious title of this post suggests, I wanted to do a beauty post today. Seriously. SO. bad. I wanted to tell you all about my favorite lipstick at the moment! However, my camera doesn't care what I want to do! It's a nice camera, it takes pretty good photos, but when it comes to the colors of things-PSH. Pretty inaccurate, no matter what I try. Which bums me out, considering that is one of the things I want to post about most. So for that, I am sorry! I really want to post beauty related things, but I need a better camera so that my posts are actually worth reading : (   On another note, I need your help! This girl needs a change in her hair. I don't want to cut the length of though, and I just colored my hair recently. What's a girl to do?! Get bangs! But, I can't decide if I look better with out them. I mean I have a love hate relationship with them. Get 'em, hate 'em, wait for them to grow out...but I feel like maybe I should give them another shot. What do you all think?

Currently:

When I have had bangs in the past:
^Friend from school.
(You may notice a little something different about me here...an overflow of sorts. This was before my breast reduction-eek! More on that later, if that is of any interest!)

Eric <3
For the most part, my bangs have always been side swept, longer ones. Probably what I would go for if I got them cut! I know it's not that big of a deal, but hey, I still would like some input! Be honest guys : )

My Birthday Outfit!

It's not late or anything... okay, maybe ten days late. Better late than never, right?! I loved this outfit. I have actually never wore the dress before, and I have had it for over a year! This is what I wore out to dinner on my birthday : )

 Dress: Charlotte Russe
Belt: Old, no idea!
Tights: Rosa's
Boots: Macy's
Bracelet: Forever 21

Awkward stance.. haha

Awkward once again! Complimentary birthday sundae at Outback Steakhouse : )

My birthday went pretty well, even though I was sick. My food was delicious and I left feeling like I might die because I was so full! All in all, it was a good day!

"The Perfect Night In"

Hey there everyone :) Today I have a very special guest post, from Catherine! She is going to give us some tips on how we can have the perfect night in! Here is her advice:

As the weather gets colder it’s time to think about getting cozy. An evening spent at home on the
sofa with the curtains drawn becomes much more appealing than going out, walking between bars
and getting wetter and colder as the night goes on.

Here are just a few essential items that will make every night in a perfect one:

Take some time out

The first thing to do to make the evening a relaxing one is to get rid of anything that might make
you stressed. Turn off your phone, log out of your email accounts and Facebook to make sure no
one can contact you and you do not have to worry about work. Put your laptop away somewhere
so you’re not tempted to start doing those little things that need to be done – they can all wait
until tomorrow.

Get comfy

A warm pair of slippers to keep your toes cozy are a must. Get out of your work clothes and into
something comfy. Even though no one can see you it’s still nice to wear something pretty, we
don't dress nicely solely for the pleasure of others after all!

Though a baggy pair of tracksuit bottoms are sometimes appealing, womens pajamas are much
more luxurious. Soft and warm, they will put you in the mood for the quiet, relaxing evening you
are treating yourself to instead of leaving you feeling like you’re just lounging about the house.
Something to nibble

Think ahead and on your way home stop at the supermarket to pick up a few of your favourite
snacks; something you wouldn't usually have. Depending on your mood, maybe have a glass of
wine or two with your meal or treat yourself to a big mug of warming tea if you fancy something
non-alcoholic.

What to do

This is an evening not to waste watching bad TV. It’s the perfect time to pick up that novel or
watch that film you have been wanting to see for ages. Curled up on the sofa under a blanket with
nothing to distract or disturb you, it’s nice to have some proper time to yourself every now and
again.

Pamper yourself, maybe soak you feet and then paint your toenails. These small things make you
feel comfortable and relaxed but there is rarely time to do them on an everyday basis – making it
highly important that you take the time to treat yourself during a night in once in a while.
I hope everyone enjoyed this post, courtesy of Catherine.
Do you take the time out to do these things for yourself?

Sunday Social-Thankful!

I am thankful for all of my family members! (I am very close with extended family too, so this would be no short list!)
My sister Ciara somehow got left out of this?! But she counts too! <3

I am thankful for my real, true, amazing friends. [Imagine a hundred different pictures right here of everyone that is important to me!  : )  ]
via

I am thankful that I had the option and opportunity to go to college, and pursue being a nurse.

I am thankful for all of my favorite foods (and the fact that I have access to them if I want them; some people don’t have options to a mean, let alone their favorite).

I am thankful for the life I have. Not extravagant. Not above average. Just normal, making it by life-I am okay with that. Roof over my head, food available, and security knowing I have a place to live. For now as a college student, it is important to remember those who don’t have what they need, instead of what you always want!

I am thankful that I have met a few people by having a blog, and some of them seem to care!

I am thankful for being given life! Thank you to my mom and dad for bringing me into this world! I almost wanted to do a separate post about that on my birthday when I did a post, to thank them, but I will just say it here! It is crazy that those two people together made me, and I am here. That is a lot to think about! Haha.

I am thankful for my sister finding someone special. Someone our whole family seems to like. Who treats her right, makes her happy, accepts her for who she is, and is great with kids. Congratulations on their recent engagement!

I know I can list so many more things that I am thankful, but this is a good summary of the most important! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

What I am Currently Loving!

Hello Lovelies! I hope everyone is doing well! I currently have something going on in my throat-probably strep, or something along those lines. I am no stranger to strep, I get it about 6 times a year (not kidding!) I should be used to it, but it's my birthday today, so for now, I am NOT okay with it! Anyways, I wanted to get a post up about the things I am just loving right now!

1. SCARVES! Of any sort really. Long, short, frilly, plain, patterned, puffy, cozy. You name it, I will probably like it. Outfit is boring? No problem, add a scarf, bada-bing you are a whole new lady!

This lovely scarf may or may not be in an upcoming outfit post ft. that ^^ outfit :)

2. Wearing my boots: Who doesn't love boots? There are so many styles these days, I feel like almost anyone could find a pair they like! I am no boot snob, if you give me boots, more than likely, I will be like, "Okay, now let me find the rest of my outfit!" But, I really love my new boots I received from my stepmother:
These are "Bearpaw" brand, in the style "Miriam mid-calf". So warm and comfy!

I have a nice pair of knee high brown leather boots, but they have a bit of a high heel on them, so I have been on the lookout for more wearable ones. This is where my next "love" enters!

3. Online shoe stores : Oh my gosh. Want. Need. NOW! I feel like looking online gives you so many more options. Is it just me? Or does anyone else feel like online stores give you about 50 more options than if you went to a store? Regardless, those are so gorgeous boots, and I would adore them with my little heart! Check out these amazing things, another pair on the boot wishlist:

In. Love.

4. Thanksgiving is coming up! Who is with me on this one? Family. Being thankful. Food. foOD. FOOD! Okay- it's clear I like the food aspect. But can you blame me?
Please tell me you are drooling too.

5. Layering clothing: This is nothing new. It happens in the Fall, I am sure it probably happens in Spring and Summer too. But something about putting different pieces together just makes me happy to get dressed in the morning!
 via

6. Maybelline Berry Bliss Lipstick: So pretty! I will be wearing it tonight when I go for my birthday dinner! It seems really moisturizing compared to other Maybelline lipsticks I have; fluke? Or are all the new ones more moisturizing?!

7. Talking to my bloggy friends! It is nice to meet new "friends" outside of my college and back at my home town. I like connecting with twitter, instagram, and emails; it's great to have others out there you can related to, and you feel like you get to know a lot of each others life as you read blog posts. I love the blogging community!

Well it is about time for me to go out to dinner, but I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Button-Up Back & Polka Dots! Outfit : )

Heyyy pretties! I hope all of my bloggy friends are having a good weekend! I have a quick outfit post for you all; this is what I wore home from college one day (and I wore it twice the same weekend-don't judge me!) Super comfy and cute!

 Sweater: Forever 21
 Leggings: Forever 21
 LOVE the back!
Boots: Payless
Look at the zipper on the leggings! Cheesy pose but I wanted you all to see!
What do you think? Are polka dots in style for people over the age of 10? Or am I looking like a little kid? haha.

Kisssssssssses,
Kelsey

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Foundation Review!

Hey there! So I have been using the Revlon ColorStay Whipped Foundation for about three weeks now... if any of you are Youtube lovers like I am, then you probably have saw many "beauty gurus" rave about this foundation!

For the longest time, I didn't think I would buy it-I mean I have what seems like a million and one foundations, so why buy another? That thought didn't stick though, because I ended up buying it! What the product promises/states:
"Finally, truly decadent makeup offers ultimate performance. The mousse-like texture feels like silk on your skin. And, the time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. All day flexible wear without flaking, caking or feeling heavy."
Shade wise, I am honestly not sure how many the line carries, especially because it seems Target carries less shades than Walmart, so I can't comment on their range of shades. I found a pretty close color match (to my almost normal skin tone, no self tanner), but since I do use self tanner, and picked a shade a bit too light for that, I use some bronzer with this. Also, I have pretty oily skin. With that being said, let's break it doooooown!

Pros:
  • Your face will look flawless-even when using a light hand, I felt that this really helped to make your face look airbrushed. I am not saying if you have acne or scars that it will completely make them go away, but the finish it leaves just helps to diffuse imperfections and make them less noticeable!
  • It does a nice job at keeping oil away. I would say on my busy days, running around from lecture to lecture (for nursing) and doing whatever is on my agenda for that day, it keeps oil away for about 5 hours. For my skin, that is amazing! On my less busy days, I have gone probably 8-9 hours without blotting the oil (and I could probably go longer, if I wasn't washing my makeup off after that many hours!)
  • It looks better as the day goes on! Did I just say that? YES! It melts into your skin and within hours it looks even better than when you first applied it. Don't believe me? Look up all the YouTube reviews for it, I believe many girls will be saying the same! [Photo proof above-a few minutes after application]

[6.5 hours after applying it, no touch ups-I love the way it melts into your skin and just seems more natural, while NOT being oily].
  • It doesn't feel heavy on your skin. It's texture is really unlike any other liquid/cream/mousse foundation I have ever used, and you would think that it would feel like a mask, but it feels pretty light!
  • I actually prefer it over most of my high-end foundations (shocker!)
  • It photographs very well, because it has no SPF in it (SPF causes a white cast in photos when flash is used)
  Trusty Iphone picture-no flash.
Real camera, with flash.
  • Last pro is that it does seem to last all day. Now, I never sleep in my makeup. I don't remember the last time I did, until this past weekend : ( I fell asleep with it on after being out for Halloween parties. It still looked good at 2 the next day, when I finally washes it off. Sound good?
Cons:
  • The price. For drugstore foundation, it is a bit pricey (I have seen it between $11 and $15 in different places)...but, I still think it is worth it!
  • The packaging-it looks really nice, and it is pretty sturdy, but if you were someone who wanted to take it with you to touch up with, it will be a little hefty in that already PACKED purse ladies : )
  • No SPF. This personally does not bother me, because I would be fine with using a moisturizer with SPF in it underneath it, if I really wanted it. But to some, this is something they look for in foundations.
  • It can be a bit difficult to apply. I think it applies best with your fingertips, or a densely packed kabuki brush of some sort. I don't really recommend sponges with it, unless you plan on slightly wetting it first!
***This product has NOT broken me out.

That is allllll I have to say about this! I know this post was entirely too long, and I hope you stuck around 'til the end, but I had a lot to say about it! What do you think? Will you (or did you) purchase this foundation?

XO, Kelsey

Pre Halloween Makeup!? & a Glimpse of my Everyday Eye Shadow!

Hey there! So this past Friday, I did a trial Halloween look on Eric. He wanted to get an idea of what it could look like, on Halloween, so I went ahead and did it! You all can tell me what you think : )

I used liquid latex, brown shades of eyeshadow, a BH cosmetics blush palette, fake blood, and black eyeliner!

I also have been playing around with my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I did a super simple eye (because I really never do anything dramatic!)
 Slight wing on the outside!
 (iPhone shot!)
Blurry, but I like the way it turned out!

On my lips I was wearing Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in "Honey".
For Mascara, I used Revlon Grow Luscious.
On my eyelids from the UD Naked 2 Palette: "Foxy" all over the eyelid. "Bootycall" as my highlight color on my brow bone, and all over my eyelid, on top of "Foxy".  "Half Baked" and "Chopper" mixed together, on the INNER and OUTER corners of my eyes. I wasn't going for anything dramatic, which is one reason why you can barely tell what I have on my eyes! (I know, whats the point? Sorry guys!) I did use "Blackout" with an angled eyeliner brush to thinly line my top lash line, and to wing out the corners a bit.
If you actually like what I did, and would like a more in depth tutorial, comment below and let me know!

Finished hair & makeup, and out of my "lazy" clothes!

Xo, Kelsey

P.S-Is anyone going to any Halloween parties? What are you being for Halloween? Or, when do you think it is too old to dress up?

Sunday Social; Week 20!

1. What do you value most in life?
My family, my beliefs and morals, my friends, anddd a good education!

2. What do you think is the greatest invention in your lifetime and why?
I would have to be really general here, sorry. I would say all the ever-changing medical equipment. I will be a nurse, and that equipment that is always evolving, or being invented, could help save someones life!

3. What do you think is the secret to a good life?
Believing in yourself, in others, and something more than this life. Being caring, thoughtful, and lending a hand to someone who is down. Love like there is no tomorrow. I believe in karma; so do something nice or generous not because you NEED to, but because you want to.
4. What would you most like to be remembered for when you're gone?
I would like to be remembered as the person who never gave up, and cared so much about others; I would definitely like to be remembered for my big heart.
5. What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?
Well I am currently in college to become a nurse, so I can't say graduating college just yet, but, I am proud of course to have graduated high school a few years ago with a great GPA, and I am proud that I actually got into my colleges Nursing program, because it is very, very competitive!

6. If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to play you?
Hmm...Well many many people have told me I look like  Alyson Hannigan. Sometimes I actually agree. Maybe not so much in pictures, because that's a second your face is frozen in time, but in day to day life, I definitely have some of the same mannerisms and facial quirks that she has. So, not only would she sort of look like me, but I think she has some quirks, and humor like me!

Link up everyone : )

Falling Off Blogger-World & a Floral Dress!

Hey, remember me? Well, I still exist. I have felt really bad about not posting-no one makes me, but it's still nice to keep this baby going, right? I just haven't been feeling up to it, I have just been very upset, for personal reason. Maybe sometime I will post a little more about those reasons, but for now, I would just rather keep them to myself, but a little love from my lovely followers wouldn't hurt my feelings! Haha. I wanted to post this outfit post from lets say, the end of July (whoops). Yeah, better late than never! I might as well, since my brother so kindly took these pictures for me, and because I got the dress for a little less than $9.00...so, I think it is fine to be late!
 Sorry for all the leg-oops!

Because everyone looks a little better with a beam of sunlight blinding them.

Oh, hey there.

Floral Dress: Forever 21//Sandals: "Classified" brand.

I hope you all haven't given up on me, I really do still exist! I have been commenting like crazy on other blogs and all that, I just haven't been up to posting on my own!
Lots of luvz (haha)
